In 1976 PT "KASAM", or previously better known as CV. "KASAM" DRILLING GROUP ventured to start an informal business in the field of drilling services, be it for the purposes of engineering geology (soil investigation), mineral exploration such as (gold, nickel, tin and coal) as well as deep groundwater drilling (water well drilling).

At first PT Kasam only focused on drilling services, until in 2005 PT Kasam ventured to open another business, namely SPPBU and until now PT Kasam has several different types of businesses and has established them under one name, namely KASAM Group.

Currently, KASAM Group has several subsidiaries, namely PT Kasam Pemboran dan Eksplorasi, PT Kasam Catur Putra Mandiri which consists of five SPPBU and is building one more SPPBU located in Wates Kulonprogo, PT Wira Bangun Sarana (SPPBE), PT Gasindo Berjaya (Agent LPG 3kg), and PT Kasam Hexa Mandiri (GeoTechnical Laboratory).
